Common problems in the printing process of silk screen manufacturers

Whether it’s screen printing or manual printing, the thickness and uniformity of the printed products vary. Screen printing manufacturers tend to achieve more precision in their printing, whereas manual printing may not be as accurate. Additionally, factors such as the adjustment speed of the screen printing machine, as well as the pressure applied to the squeegee and ink return blade, can also affect the printing quality.
The hardness of the squeegee is also related to the precision of the printed pattern. For higher precision, a harder, pointed-tip squeegee is used, resulting in clearer and more aesthetically pleasing prints. The common phenomenon of ghosting is related to the tension and spacing of the screen. If the tension of the screen is uneven during stretching, the ink layer thickness of the printed product will vary, and parts may appear blurry. In the case of dot printing, color deviation is also likely to occur. Under normal tension, the size of the screen spacing also affects the printing effect to some extent. If the screen spacing is too large, the printing pressure of the squeegee will be high, affecting the tension of the screen plate, which may lead to premature scraping of the screen plate; if the screen spacing is too small, the screen cannot immediately leave the printing substrate after printing, which may cause the screen to become smeared. The size of the screen spacing can be adjusted according to the tension of the screen plate and the size of the screen frame. For a screen with high tension, the screen spacing should be smaller, while for a larger screen frame, the screen spacing should be larger. No ink is universal, and there are many types of printing substrates. When selecting ink, it must be compatible with the material of the printing substrate, otherwise it will affect the adhesion. When the ink concentration is high, the diluent not only plays a role in dilution but also determines the adhesion to a certain extent. The diluent has a certain degree of corrosion effect on the printing substrate, dissolving it to improve the adhesion between the ink and the printing substrate. Different diluents can adjust the drying speed to meet the requirements of the printing environment. When bubbles appear during printing, pay attention to the concentration of the ink. If the concentration is too high, dilute the ink. Alternatively, bubbles may be caused by the rebound of the screen cloth due to high printing speed and large screen spacing, or the ink may be dissolved by the wrong solvent, resulting in poor mixing between the solvent and the ink, which leads to too fast drying and bubbling.
